Default TW AWD VR-X Instrument Cluster Backlighting

Hey guys a couple of quick questions, is the instrument cluster backlighting on a TW AWD VR-X supposed to be lit at all times? ( I also have a TJ Sports where it is lit at all times)

Also, is the ring around the ignition barrel supposed to light up on both the TW and TJ? Neither of mine do but it looks like they're meant to.

    Cheers

I'm "pretty sure" the dash has a light sensor - only lights the dash in low light when the lights are off. Pretty sure = 30% sure.

The ignition barrell I'm pretty sure should be on when when the car is unlocked and should stay on until the ignition is moved to the start position. Thats how it is with my TJ.
I'm not a complete idiot - some bits are missing.

Cool thanks guys, looks like I might need to have a look at the key barrel light and see if there's a blown globe or not.
    Thank you.

The high contrast dash does illuminate without the lights on, I have one in my TJ sports AWD and it definitely illuminates soon as the ignition is switched on.

Is that the blackout dash that you have in yours? (mine is not a blackout dash)

It seems strange that my wife's TJ sports has the red illumination on at all times but my TW doesn't.

My misses has a TW that i put a VRX cluster in to and it is only lit when you turn the lights on. Not like the TJ where it is lit t all times.

No it's not the blackout dash. It is white dials with red numbers.

I gotta 05 KW GTVi AWD (S2 I think) with black and white instrument cluster and the back lighting is brighter during the day than with the headlights on (discounting dimmer).
